Company Background
A Large Telecommunications organization focused on bringing the freedom of mobility to consumers, businesses, and government users with a comprehensive range of wireless and wireline communications services

Objective
This telco organization desired Activity Based Costing algorithms to be applied to all of its inter and intra lata network data to understand the cost of all their calls and how it could be manage them. This understanding would help them control costs and strategically plan for growth in new territories. The software vendor’s Professional Services division was hired to build all of the processes and applications to analyze these processes. Unfortunately, after six months of work and 300 programs, nothing worked. Destiny was called in by the software vendor to fix the issues and get the system working.

Resolution
Destiny analyzed the existing programs and quickly realized that there was no valid design and methodology implemented in these processes. It was tough, but we had to convince the Director of Finance that there was a better way and the 300 programs were useless. He trusted us and we carefully mapped out all processes and designed a programmatic flow that supported the business requirements. We also closely involved the business experts in the design. Within three weeks, the system was built from scratch with a business-rules based interface that was maintainable by non-technical business users. Batch processes automatically analyzed network traffic, matched routes, expanded, and contracted as the data changed on a weekly basis. There were less than a dozen routines built and placed in production that are automatically scheduled through a Control M process that needs no human intervention. The jobs have been processing continuously since 2003.

This organization has been able to analyze their call routing and put measures in place to reduce carrying costs, saving money for their shareholders.


Company Background
A Leading Telecommunications and media company with a portfolio of operations that includes a full suite of advanced digital television, voice and high-speed Internet services and valuable local media and programming properties.

Objective
This organization captures set top box information from its subscribers. They also offer advertising through another division. Their goal was to use tune in data along with demographic information on its subscribers to offer targeted, addressable advertising. shutterstock_133628906The challenge was determining the best way to design an environment that could track this process for multiple advertisers and keep the anonymity of its subscribers while showing a lift in return on promotional investment.

Resolution
Destiny was hired to design the process allowing for tune in data to be joined with demographic information, anonymized, and targeted for each campaign. Destiny supported this process for four years with continuous weekly and monthly addressable advertising campaigns.

Benefits
This was a one-stop production shop for the customer. The customer only had to sell the advertising to the clients while Destiny took care of the internal production processes and coordinated with external database marketing vendors and set top box delivery vendors.

A Large Telecommunications provider of wireless voice, messaging, and data services with over 293 million Americans customers.

Objective
The Marketing Department of this telco had a mission to support massive growth of the organization. They wanted to implement a Marketing Automation and Optimization project that supports customer acquisition and reduces customer churn.

Resolution
Destiny worked closely with the client to design various ETL processes reading Teradata client and transaction information. We also implemented a software vendor’s Marketing Automation and Optimization solution to create customized Marketing Campaigns for customer acquisition and churn reduction.

Benefits
The customer is now able to design and execute their own campaigns utilizing the benefits of the campaign software combined with In-database Teradata processing.
